Supermarket testing antibacterial reusable bags made out of crab parts
Posted On: June 26, 2012The Cub Foods division of Supervalu in Minnesota is testing an antibacterial, antimicrobial, lead-free reusable bag, according to the bag’s manufacturer, Go Clean, based in Santa Monica, Calif.
According to Jason Sydney, president of Go Clean, the bags are coated in chitosan, an eco-friendly solution that contains no heavy metals and that inhibits growth of bacteria, microorganisms and fungi. He said the bags have been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency. Sydney said the bags are being offered at Cub for $2.49.
